2012 年 10 月 Office 2013 完成了 RTM 版，之後提供給 TechNet/MSDN 訂閱用家下載，12 月初，Office 2013、Exchange 2013 面向企業用家公開發售。至於普通消費者， Microsoft 曾表示，全新的 Office 系列產品將在 2013 年第一季度通過零售和在線渠道銷售。
日前， Microsoft 一位客服人員表示，Office 2013 將於 3 月 31 日正式面向普通用家發售。Microsoft 在線商店近日上架了 Office 2013，一位用家在購買後無法下載 Office 2013，於是諮詢客服人員。根據客服人員的回答，儘管該用家已經支付成功，但是下載 Office 2013 要等到 3 月 31 日。Microsoft 目前尚未在官方場合宣佈 Office 2013 的具體上市日期，不過根據 Microsoft 以往的作風，在 3 月 31 日發售 Office 2013 還是極有可能的，畢竟這一天還是在「2013 年第一季度」
